about us
Founded in 2012 with the simple idea of cooking for the families of local moms diagnosed with cancer, Sparrow’s Nest has assisted more than 500 families in the Hudson Valley.
But our mission is about so much more than food. It is about supporting families whose world has been turned upside down, families who have no time to cook, and giving recipients precious time to focus on their families.
Sparrow’s Nest is about providing these families some normalcy, when nothing seems normal at all. Some sense of comfort when nothing feels comfortable.

We’re able to continue our mission because of the support of so many generous people in our community. And that support comes in a variety of different ways.
Our community is vital to our success and there are so many ways for people of all ages and abilities to support our work.
Whether you choose to support our mission through a donation or sponsorship, participating in one of our events, committing your time and resources to one of our community projects or volunteering your time in other areas, you are making a difference.

Delivering Hope
Our refrigerated van travels nearly 500 miles each week, delivering homemade meals to families whose lives have been turned upside down by a cancer diagnosis. Qualified individuals are never turned away and as word of our mission spreads, the need for our services continues to expand.
