The January 2017 Edition of “The Chirp”, the official Sparrow’s Nest newsletter, features an inspirational note from founder Krista Jones.

Krista Jones, Founder of Sparrow's Nest CharityThe new year is always a time for resolutions. A resolution to lose weight, a resolution to become more financially sound, even one to become a better parent.

This year I’ve decided not to make any of these resolutions. Honestly, I usually break them by the third week. So this year I took a lot of time reflecting about what I really wanted to change about me and I came up with a solution…to conquer all of my broken resolutions.

This year I have decided to focus on becoming a better person. A person that dedicates their time to encouraging people instead of demoralizing them, especially passing judgement about them when I don’t know them!

To be a person who goes out of their way to compliment a stranger in the hope it will brighten their day. Because I feel the world needs more sunshine, the world needs more hope. Frankly, the world needs more good people. People who want to make a difference, who spend less time judging others and more time helping others instead.

Be that person. It’s a resolution we should all try our hardest to keep.
